Emerge
Iceberg
Submerged.
Waiting in silence,
Keeping ships
At a distance.
Old moon
Submerged.
Melting to nothing,
Lighting no path
For homecoming.
Shadow
Submerged.
Covering up proof,
Offering the lies
As if Truth.
The Light
Lets all emerge.
Lifting the shadow,
Lighting new moon,
Melting the ice.

How exciting that we are getting pictures of Pluto from close up? Wow! As we learned with the Hubble Space Telescope, what we can see from Earth can be distorted by the atmosphere. But having a spacecraft camera travel that far to take a close up shot is very exciting. What will we learn?
Yesterday’s New Moon in Cancer happened at 9:26 pm Eastern Daylight Time. This means that the Sun and Moon are together in the sign of Cancer and the Earth’s shadow covers the Moon so that it does not reflect Sun’s light. The Dark of the Moon is a special time of potency. We, on Earth, are receiving pure Moon energy – feminine, nurturing, emotional.
We are invited to ask ourselves ‘What feeds my soul?’ Look at your values and how they are being demonstrated by how you spend your time. Do you need to do some adjusting in your priorities, in your schedule?
In addition, Mercury, Mars, Uranus and Pluto are playing together in the second half of July to give us a chance to make the visions of the 60s about peace, equality and the environment become grounded in the 21st Century. What can you do?
Remember that the New Moon is the time to invite something NEW into your life. What are you ready to welcome? Maybe it’s time to get rid of limiting beliefs and think new thoughts. This is a special month for our family! We have two grandchildren having birthdays, Makayla (18) and Tristan (1). What a joy grandchildren are! And we get to celebrate with both of them! And on July 22nd Rosemary & I celebrate our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. We will celebrate all of these special days!

ROSEMARY’S EXPLORATION: Evolve Your Consciousness and Lift Others Up
The consciousness of humankind is dependent upon the evolutionary progress of the majority of the humans on Earth at any given time. Highly evolved individuals can lift the consciousness of many others but the others must choose to be lifted up.
Those who choose not to evolve can often influence many others by weighing down the thinking of the group in which they find themselves.
Each individual has a responsibility for the consciousness level of every group in which they participate. Social, work, family, spiritual, religious. It is not possible to participate in a group without affecting or being affected by the consciousness level of that group.
For example, one cannot sit idly by while someone in a group speaks disparagingly about others without being dragged down to the dense vibration of that thought. Similarly, one cannot help but be lifted up when someone of higher consciousness speaks in or to a group.
If you are the one speaking, you can lift up a group or you can bring it down with your words and the thoughts you convey.
If you think that you can be a silent bystander in a group, then you are mistaken. If you sit quietly in a group that spouts thoughts of hatred you have 2 choices – you can speak up against that hatred and risk all that goes with speaking out or you can leave the group. Sitting silently implies agreement and brings you to the level of consciousness associated with hatred.
You are always at choice. Do you think that you can be associated with a group and not participate in the ideas that group espouses? You have just given away your power.
Pay attention to the ideas expressed within any group you choose to join. Pay attention to the ideas expressed within your family. Make your position known and invite others to be uplifted. Avoid discussions of hatred and negative speaking about others. Refuse to be engaged in arguments of topics that are low vibration.
Your mother said, “Tell me who you go with and I’ll tell you what you are.” This is true. With whom do you choose to spend your time? If they do not represent who you are becoming then it may be time to step away.
Take charge of your vibrations. Keep lifting yourself up to higher consciousness. Refuse to allow others to drag you down.

Happy Full Moon in Capricorn!
Today’s Hubble picture is a recent one of the Pillars of Creation. Stars are being born deep inside the pillars, a small part of the Eagle Nebula, a vast star-forming region 6,500 light-years from Earth.
Rhythms
Full moon rising,
Climbing as a goat
Up the mountain of the sky
Riding high, beaming Sunrays
Back to Earth, light for the Dark Way.
Half-year passing,
Fading as a flower.
Ripening fruit-time in full force
Nourishing Earth energy pushing
Life to feed the seed to feed life.
Old man rejoicing,
Vigorous as a stoat,
Living the dream, dreaming life
Back into fading years
Shedding no tears, full force rising!

This Full Moon at 09 degrees Capricorn, opposite the Sun at 09 degrees Cancer, invites us to look at what we expressed as our desires at the last New Moon (June 16) and release any remaining blocks to manifesting those desires. The Full Moon happened at 10:22 pm Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, July 1, and ushered in the time to determine what to let go of as we get down to work for the next two weeks.
How are you taking care of yourself? (Cancer) What are your tasks, your REAL work, your objectives? (Capricorn) Do your assessment as you also pay attention to the fact that everyone around you will be experiencing the effects of this Full Moon, knowing about it or ignorant of it. Drive defensively!
The Sun is dancing with several other planets in the period between this Full Moon and the next New Moon on July 15, making early July a good time to look for the areas where big change is needed in your life. Are you ready?

A FULL MOON POEM: Rhythms
Here on the East Coast there is a full moon in Capricorn tonight at 10:22. As some of you dear readers know, Rosemary and I celebrate the cycles of the moon, paying special attention to this nearest “heavenly body” as she moves through her phases affecting the planet and all of life in so many ways. We’ll be publishing the MoonLetter later today (subscribe here) but in the meantime, to lead up to this “big moon” I want to share my poem for the day (and her):
Rhythms
Full moon rising,

A Friday Poem: It’s All Just Lies
Yesterday’s post from Rosemary’s Exploration was all about truth and Truth. It seems as soon as we find a truth for our lives we discover a hollowness to it that we then seek to grow beyond, to find a new truth to stand on. And then a shift occurs and we are seeking again.
In pondering this seeking through layers of “truth” today’s poem “wrote itself” out of my musings:
It’s All Just Lies
The stories we tell ourselves?
We make them all up!
What if I told you your stories are crap?
We make it all up.
It’s all just lies!
The illness, the stress, the difficult life?
We make them all up!
The suffering, meltdowns, tales of strife?
We make it all up.
It’s all just lies!
The happy places, the glade, the glen?
We make them all up!
This life, that death, new birth and growth?
We make it all up.
It’s all just lies!
The Qi, the flow, yin and yang?
We make them all up!
Even the Dao, the ground of all being?
We make it all up.
It’s all just lies!
So, where is the truth, what is real?
Keep looking my friend;
Believe nothing you feel!

ROSEMARY’S EXPLORATION: Truth is Light
The truth inside you is revealed by your finding your Inner Light and shining that out into the world.
Do you think that you know the ‘Truth’ with a capital ‘T’? So often, we seek truth, we think we find truth, we think our truth is better than their truth. But, really, what is this truth that we seek, find, compare?
Did you used to believe in Santa Claus? The Tooth Fairy? The Easter Bunny? What is the truth around these characters?
Maybe you believed in the Boogeyman or the Monster Under the Bed? What is the truth about these characters?
Your belief made these very real to you. I suspect, however, that you have changed your truth around Santa Claus and the Boogeyman. What makes you feel that other stories you once believed, or believe today, cannot also change as you mature, evolve and grow?
The truth of who you are is the Inner Light that is the spark of the Divine, your connection to Source Energy, the Universe Within, your Spirit. Whatever you call your essence it is your truth.
What you believe can change from day to day, from moment to moment, but who you are – who you REALLY are, at your core – that does not change.
When you believe that you are a light being, placed on this Earth with a purpose to fulfill, a reason for being here, in this very place at this very moment surrounded by the very people who surround you, then you can be who you really are.
Your circumstances do not define who you are. Who you love and who doesn’t love you have nothing to do with the Light Within you. What you do does not say who you are. Your success or failure does not speak to who you are.
You are Light. Your truth comes from the cosmic light that was formed at the beginning of the Universe. Anything that is trying to dim you, to dim your light, is not truth.
Just as Santa Claus is a belief, so is most of what you believe about yourself ‘just a belief.’
I hear from clients language that tells me their belief has crept into their definition of ‘truth.’ ‘I’m not smart enough.’ ‘I can’t afford that.’ ‘I’m too fat to _____.’ ‘When I get that job I’ll be happy.’ ‘I’m too old to _____.’
I also hear things like ‘Life is hard.’ ‘Suffering is just a part of life.’ ‘I don’t have anyone who will help me.’
The list goes on. And I would bet that you could add to this list from your own experience.
Yet, these beliefs are not Truth with a capital T. They are beliefs. Beliefs can change.
“I’m the only one who can take care of that’ can change to ‘I’ll ask my brother to handle that issue for Mom.’ ‘I don’t have enough money to get the help I need’ can change to ‘I trust that money will come to me as I need it when I get my priorities straight.’
This list goes on, too.
Your truth can change as you mature, evolve and grow. Let it shift. Look for the Light. Truth has a Light Quality about it that helps you to believe.
The Truth is that you are your Inner Light. Now be who you REALLY are!

NEW MOON NEWS FROM ROSEMARY
Greetings; and Happy New Moon in Gemini!
“Be still and look inside for the answers. Trust that you have an Inner Wisdom that speaks your truth to you.”
Make things happen now, while the Moon is growing in the night sky from dark to Full. Think new thoughts. Believe new ideas. Find new ways to listen, to communicate.
Use the Gemini energy to improve communications. Mercury is now moving in a direct pattern – we survived another dreaded retrograde period! Woo Hoo! Focus on the listening side of communicating while you observe yourself – are you getting the response you want or are your communications creating something different? Take responsibility for communicating authentically while allowing others to be valued and appreciated for their authentic selves.
The Summer Solstice is coming up on June 21 – the longest day of the year for us in the northern hemisphere. The most Light of the year! What new Light can you shine into the world this week?
Someone recently asked how to convince someone else that it is important to pay attention to the Moon. What do you think? Does it matter? My answer is that we are mostly water and the Moon visibly affects the waters of the Chesapeake Bay so why shouldn’t we be affected by the same energy that brings in a super high tide?
I’ve also talked to folks who work in Emergency Rooms and they KNOW, with great certainty, that the Moon affects people because they can track it in the emergencies that they see.
Knowledge is Power. To live a Conscious Life means to be conscious of what is going on around you. Noticing the Moon and her cycles is a part of that knowledge.
PS: The Hubble image is of NGC 6503, a Spiral Galaxy “Lost in Space.” From the Hubble Site: “…this galaxy, known as NGC 6503, has found itself in a lonely position, at the edge of a strangely empty patch of space called the Local Void. The Local Void is a huge stretch of space that is at least 150 million light-years across.”
